To make reservations, please visit the Prospector Hotel website; use the group ID "lfqis" to make your reservation (with the above rates). Reservations must be made/confirmed by 1 June 2016. If you are interested in sharing a room, the organizers will try to match you with another conference member; please email your request to the local organizing committee.
There will be very few alternative housing options besides staying at Prospector Hotel; mid-summer is the 'high' season for tourism in Alaska, and most accommodations throughout the state are booked in advance. Although Juneau (pop. 40000) is the state capitol, it is also a major destination for summer cruiseships, and as result there will be very limited possibilities for lodging. There are several very small campgrounds in the area, which typically are first-come-first-served; as they are far from the city center, where the workshop is being held, you would need transportation and you would need to pay for parking at the workshop.
