Flying to the conference
Denali National Park is located
120 miles south of Fairbanks Alaska and 240 miles north of Anchorage
Alaska. Thus, the organizers strongly encourage participants
in LFQIS to book travel to and from Fairbanks Alaska (FAI). Shuttle
service between Fairbanks and the conference site in Denali National
Park will be arranged, and is included in the registration fee.
Participants can also
rent a car at the Fairbanks International Airport. Please
contact the local organizing committee if you wish to travel from
Fairbanks to Denali National Park via the Alaska Railroad (dep. 0815,
arr. 1540, coach fare $66 o/w, dome car fare $121 o/w.) Please note
that the arrival and departure times at Denali NP are frequently
subject to delay; for other information, visit the
Alaska Railroad website.
Alternately, if you choose to fly to and from Anchorage, there are
two ways to get to the conference site. You can hire a car at the
Anchorage International Airport, or you can travel from Anchorage
to Denali National Park via the Alaska Railroad (dep. 0815, arr. 1540,
coach fare $150 o/w, dome car fare $235 o/w.) Please note that the
arrival and departure times at Denali NP are frequently subject to delay.
